Dreaming in Black and White

In Design, Fashion, Film on July 19, 2010 at 8:27 am

I am fairly certain that when Mr. Foodinista and I saw Inception this weekend, Leonardo diCaprio planted the idea that I *need* the following:
1. 1940s black leather Jacques Adnet for Hermès mirror

2. “Oblivion 10n” 40 x 40 c-photograph by David Maisel, 2004

3. Alaïa Perforated Leather Bag

4. 2010 Audi RS 6 Avant ($158,614!!!!!!!!!!!!)

5. Blüthner Grand 6

And no, none of these items feature in the movie, which is what makes this a clear-cut case of mental espionage.

  1. That is a TASTY wagon. I’m more about retro-chic estate cars, hence this particular hot pile of steel shall be mine: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/mercedes-e55-amg-wagon/

FWIW, 2 of those pianos equates to 1 RS6. Not sure what’s more insane, the piano, or the leather bag?

    • The set decoration was the best thing about that movie. Ellen Page’s regrettable white knit cap, sweater vest–hell her whole look–the worst.

      • Ellen Page’s wardrobe was the pits. The knit cap nearly sent me over the edge. I did think the styling on Leo, Marion and that Eames character was quite good. That shoe Marion dangles and drops—I could have watched that scene over and over (oh, wait, I did). Why make poor Ellen look like such a tosser?
