Pucker Up

Our neighbor Debra came over for dinner last night, bringing with her a shaker full of her signature cocktail, the Grapefruit Gimlet. After an outrageously delicious cocktail or two, she was persuaded to part with her secret, which is using half plain vodka and half Domaine Charbay Ruby Red Grapefruit Vodka. She mixes the vodka blend with equal parts of a concotion of freshly squeezed organic lime juice and a dash of Sonoma Syrup Lime-Infused Simple Syrup made from key and Persian limes, which tastes much more fresh than the traditional Rose’s lime. She shakes this with ice and strains into a cocktail glass. The result is a refreshing, tart-sweet cocktail that will have you puckering up for another.
