Sam’s Bagels on Larchmont has been an institution for the past 17 years, and has been in danger of losing its lease since the building was sold last year. Fans of these perfect, chewy bagels—the best in town—will be thrilled to hear that Sam’s plans to stay put for at least another couple years, according to manager Ed. Sam’s offers 30-some flavors of bagels, each with its own merit. For instance, my favorite Sunday morning combo is egg & cheddar cheese on the jalapeño bagel. The jalapeño gives it just the right flavor kick. I’m also crazy about both their chicken salad and tuna melt on a rye bagel or their whole wheat bagel toasted and slathered in butter.
