A Rosé By Any Other Name…

In Drink, Food on December 11, 2008 at 5:01 pm

What you are looking at might, at first glance, appear to be a bottle of the obscenely overpriced Domaines Ott Rosé, deified by annoying Hamptonistas and selling for a jaw-dropping $40/bottle. FOR A ROSÉ. But fear not! A closer look at the label reveals that it’s Chateau St. Pierre rosé ($15) from Provence, which shares the unusual bottle shape of the Ott, but not the sticker shock. It’s a fantastic food wine with spicy notes and apricot flavors. They just got another case in at Larchmont Village Wine, Spirits & Cheese, so I’m heading over to grab a bottle to go with the Linguine with Clams in Spicy Pernod Sauce that my husband is cooking tonight!

  1. mmmmmmm …. sounds delicious!

  2. Sounds yummy! Wonder where I can get it around the IE?

    • It might be worth checking BevMo in Redlands, or asking them if they can get it in for you. I’ve seen the Chateau Saint Pierre Bordeaux ($80) at BevMo here in LA. Maybe they stock some of the winery’s more affordable wines as well?
